saint domitius monastery
(mar doumit)
Built in the 19th century during the Ottoman Era, the Saint Domitius Monastery was erected on the remains of a pre-existing monastery from the 12th century. The sixteen icons that adorn the church's interior date back to the mid-19th century and originate from Jerusalem. This monastery is surrounded by numerous caves and vaults carved into the nearby rocks.
